‘Mental patient’ Halloween costumes: are they offensive?

Are ‘mental patient’ Halloween costumes offensive? This week, critics have lashed out against British supermarket chains ASDA and Tesco for stocking Halloween merchandise which perpetuates the stigma surrounding mental illness.
